Big is Beatiful???

So. Got to watch the King Kong yesterday. Frist of all, I never had high hopes for what one of my friends called "an 'animal' movie"! The primary reason for watching this movie was for the "theater experience". The movie comes out with flying colors in this aspect. Great sounds, great visuals, wow special effects. The scale of the movie is very very very grand! Peter Jackson has bettered himself in King Kong (after stunning everyone with his flair for grandeur and detail in the Lord of the Rings trilogy).

OK. This is the max I can go with the pros of the movie. Now to the cons.
Overall the movie looks like a collage of Titanic, Jurassic Park with a tinge of King Kong.
Some pieces of movie looks as though it is right out of the Age of Empires game!
Some action sequences (the dinosaur stampede) looks like they have inserted just for their 'commercial' value. Some sequences are outright gross (insects).

While the movie is a treat for the eyes and ears, there is precious little for the mind (the use of the word 'intellect' would have been too much in this context!!!).
